- Support for women on a range of special issues
- Signposting – using the experience and knowledge of members to enable signposting to useful organisations and services of benefit to women
- Stimulation – host debates and conferences on women issues, including an annual Women’s Day Event
Tracey is a very proud Trustee for The National Association for Children of Alcoholics and has voluntarily associated with them since 2006.
With first-hand experience of the volatile existence that the estimated 3.6 million children of alcoholics in UK face on a daily basis, Tracey prefers to put a positive spin on her own darkness by working with NACOA.
Being a ‘media sort’, Tracey has written many pieces for the national and local press and magazine market and also been interviewed on radio and television, including with Jenni Murray on BBC Radio 4′s Woman’s Hour and with Matt Allwright on Channel 5′s The Wright Stuff.
Tracey takes every opportunity to express herself ‘through a lens’ and created a powerful poster for NACOA depicting a 7-year old girl with her head in her hands and a teddy bear by her side. This represents the actual age of some of the youngest children who telephone NACOA’s helpline.
In 2008, with the success of her awareness campaign, InterNational Downshifting Week behind her, Tracey also suggested and helped found an awareness campaign for NACOA called COA Week, which takes place in February. See www.COAWeek.org for further details.
Tracey has taken part in The Great North Swim and The Great London Swim (both one mile across open water) and raised money for NACOA. In 2011, she’ll do more Great Swims, please visit the link below to make a donation to NACOA.
