Hi Danny,

Thank you for your comment and I'm delighted you're keen to digest my eco-read!

Please spread the word if you like it...let me know what you think of the imagery on the Kindle - I think it's incredibly sharp...

Rubbishly yours,

Hi Tracy!
Brilliant that you've already heard of us! I spent the day at Lancaster House in London at the opening of the Climate Week Awards where ilovefreegle.org was shortlisted, we didn't win but there was a lot of shmoozing so not entirely a waste of standing up in high heels for almost an hour an' a half lol! Thanks for getting back to me it's really appreciated
Yay Freegle 'n' you of course!

Hi there!
You might be interested in the UK online based not for profit recycling/reuse organisation with only one goal 'To Stop Good Stuff Going to Landfill' and in doing so support our local communities. Freegle which means 'Free Giving Locally Easily' has over 330 branches and more than 1.5 million members offering and or requesting just about anything so long as it's free and legal. Our organisation is run entirely online via Yahoo Groups since we have no funding by over 1,000 dedicated unpaid volunteers who also pay their own groups expenses out of their own pockets for things like PR and PR materials.

Freegle actively encourages Schools, Clubs, Nursery's, Colleges, hostels and many more who can post for resources completely free of charge. My name is Liz Douglas and I run the Enfield branch of Freegle with over 7,000 members. Freegle opened it's virtual doors in September 2009 and won our first online green award within 3 months and have since gone on to win nealy 20 local and national green awards such as the CEED National eWell-Being Award in 2010 and this week ilovefreegle.org has been shortlisted for the Climate Week Awards (http://www.climateweek.com) and I'll be at the ceremony with Cat Scriggs who runs our Brighton group and Saira from one of our groups in Shropshire in London tomorrow (Monday) All 1,000 Freegle volunteers have been shortlisted for the Peaawards (http://peaawards.co.uk)

My own group is currently working with Haringey Council Housing Officer Mark Billings to help and support those who lost their homes in the Tottenham riots and will continue to help each family as they are rehomed to get whatever they need to fully furnish their homes and get their lives back on track.

Enfield Freegle hopes to continue this project once the victims have what they need we will go into hostels, safe houses and other temporary housing such as homeless shelters. Freegle is also on Twitter and Facebook so members can Freegle on the run.

Not everything has to be in working order put up your broken washing machine or DVD player, someone may be able to fix it and give it a new life, while you post a wanted ad or respond to an offer of another one (Fridge/Cooker) and when it breaks down put it back up on your group and get another one, you never have to buy white or electrical goods again!

If you'd like to check us out you'll find lots of information about ilovefreegle.org our aims and goals or feel free to get in touch if you have any questions I'm happy to help?
Regards
