Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I have to confess, I can’t stand it!
It’s not just the commercial aspect of it that get’s up my beak, it’s more the fact that we’re supposed to be all hearts and flowers to each other on the 14th to show how much we love our partners.
Meantime, in the ‘real’ world, what happens when you’re 20 years married, have a house full of poorly kids, the bills haven’t stopped sliding through the letterbox, you’ve got deadlines to meet, the laundry is stacking up, the dishwasher is on the blink and you’re due on!
This week, my eco-slot on BBC Somerset includes discussion on the library cuts, how to be happy and how to recycle old school text books via Read International.
Click here to listen and move 2 hours 11 minutes into the broadcast to catch the start of my half hour.

Today I received an urgent call for help from a great friend of mine, Karen Ford, founder of Footprint Friends and the Wipe Out Waste Awards.
She needs ears…ears in plentiful amounts and ideally attached to souls who want to make the world a cleaner, greener place…if it sounds like I’ve described your ears, use your eyes too and read on! Continue reading

In case you missed it, Elise Rayner and I had our regular chew of the green cud last night; here’s the iPlayer link which will be available for the coming week.
We also explored the importance of Work / Life Balance and how to take tentative steps towards carving a route to a ‘more fulfilling’ one…that’s definitely worth a listen to…
In fact, not blowing my own trombone, but this could be the most significant Listen Again you digest this week, especially if you’re looking for a way to slow down your pace and save some dosh!
I’m just heading off to BBC Somerset’s studios in Taunton and hope you can join me this evening between 6 and 6.30pm GMT for some eco-chit-chat.
As usual, I’ll be muscling in on the lovely Elise Rayner’s Drive Show and we’ll be deliberating and generally giggling our way through the green issues that have pricked my interest this week.
This is the first installment in a series of provocative reality checks, designed to assist you in slowing down your pace and helping you get a better handle on the work / life balance.
There will be no fluff, no polava, just 10 straight-talking top tips.
Are you ready?
Afternoon all!
The car is laden, positively heaving in fact, with a payload for the recycling centre, which I’ll drop off on the way to my studio for this evening’s show.
I plan to take command of your ears between 6 and 8pm GMT and have a stack of great music, conversation and green giggles lined up to share with you.
We need to understand and mentally affirm the true meanings behind ‘free’, in order for us to be capable enough to graciously accept and to unconsequentially give.
